Three years after the death of Barry Rubery, detectives continue to appeal for information to solve this crime.
Barry, who would have been 72 this year, was killed after he had been out with friends on Wednesday April 28, 2010. He returned to his home at Crossing cottage in Iron Acton at around 10.45pm that evening. He was found with significant head injuries the morning after.
Since his death officers have continued to work on this case in a bid to find Barry's killers. The murder featured on Crimewatch and his daughter, son and grandchildren have continuously appealed for anyone who knows anything to come forward.
A dedicated team are still working on the case. They are keen to hear from anyone who may not have previously contacted them. Superintendent Mike Carter said:
"While a number of years have passed since Barry's death, we have not given up on this investigation. We are constantly reviewing information and making further enquiries in a bid to bring the person or people responsible for Barry's death to justice. We want to provide some closure to Barry's family who still cannot understand why their father and grandfather was taken from them in such a brutal manner.
We will not give up on this investigation and as time goes by the offender or offenders are simply making matters worse. I would urge you to come forward and contact us before we find you."
Anyone who may have information is asked to call the Operation Duxbury incident room on 0117 945 4057 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
