If you love horses then how would you like to meet all the residents of Norfolk's Redwings Horse Sanctuary and their 'neighbours' ponies, donkeys and mules?
Redwings is the largest horse sanctuary in the UK, caring for over 1,200 horses, ponies, donkeys and mules every day, many who have been through traumatic experiences or have ongoing veterinary needs.
The work of Redwings is funded solely by donations and they depend on people like you to help give these animals the care they need so they can be re-homed or enjoy a secure home for the rest of their days at the Sanctuary.
They have two visitor centres in Norfolk at Caldecott and Aylsham, which make a brilliant day out for the whole family.
Plus their HQ is at Hapton and is not normally open to the general public, but we're giving your family the chance to enjoy an exclusive day there!
The prize, for up to four people, includes a behind the scenes tour of the horse hospital and the re-homing centre plus the chance to meet over 300 of the Sanctuary's residents.
We'll also include a goody bag and a year's FREE adoption of a Redwings resident including a photograph and adoption certificate.
All you need to do is answer our question below for your chance to win* but you'd better get a trot on as the competition closes at midnight on Sunday 10th March.
* Please note: Entrants must be 16 or over and live in the postcode areas served by Heart Norfolk.
What can you do to help?
There are many ways you can help the horses, ponies, donkeys and mules at Redwings Horse Sanctuary:
- Make a donation to an appeal or become a regular supporter
- Adopt one of the residents for just £12.50
- Fundraise on behalf of Redwings - how about a sponsored ride?
- Insure your horse, horsebox or trailer through SEIB and 5% goes to Redwings
- Provide a new home for a horse or pony
Plus visiting one of the two Norfolk visitors centres at Aylsham and Caldecott is a great way to see the great work they do first hand. It's a Great day out for all the family, including the likes of tractor rides, walking tours, horse care demos, children’s play areas, cafe and gift shops, as well as the chance to rub noses with the residents of course!
